Funeral services for Mark David Samudio will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, November 18, 2013 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church. The Rev. James Kassera will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday from 4 – 7 PM at the Bonnerup Funeral Chapel, Albert Lea location, and again one hour prior to the service at the church.
Mark passed away suddenly on November 13, 2013 at his home. He was 49 years old.
Mark was born May 29, 1964 to Anthony and Garnette (Arnhold) Samudio. He was born and raised in Albert Lea, where he attended and graduated high school. After school, Mark moved up to the Twin Cities to work as a chef, but soon moved back to Albert Lea to pursue his career in cooking and music.
His boys, music, and cooking were the important things in Mark's life. Passing down his love of music to Taylor and Stephen meant the most to him. He especially liked bringing family and friends together to share his passions. Mark was a loving, funny, and caring person. He drew everyone together into his home and his performances. Even on your worst of days, Mark had a contagious smile that would turn anyone's day around.
Mark is survived by his two sons, Taylor Samudio of River Falls, WI, and Stephen Samudio, as well as their mother, Michelle Bartleson, of Albert Lea; his father, Anthony Samudio; siblings, Tony Samudio, Mary (Matt) Samudio, Paul (Lisa) Samudio, and Rob (Sherry Ketterling) Samudio; nieces and nephews, Kim, Miranda, Joe (Yvette Guerra), Heather (Tyler Baas), Travis, Dustin, Dereck, and Alyssa; great nieces and nephews, Michael, Corrine, Kaleb, Brandon, Makayla, Madalynn, and Gianna.
Mark is preceded in death by his mother, Garnette; grandparents, Dave (Marie) Steafal, and Joe (Rita) Samudio; special uncle, Ray Samudio, and many other aunts and uncles.
Mark will be greatly loved and missed by his family and friends.
