Mark Stephen Erickson, age 62, passed away September 26, 2014 at Park View Care Center in Wells, Minn. Mark was born June 18, 1952 to Gene and Bonnie (Heynen) Erickson at St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato. Mark attended Albert Lea High School and was a member of the swim team, graduating with honors in 1970. He received a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Minnesota State University, Mankato. He taught business principles as an adjunct faculty member at Minnesota State University. He went on to teach at Riverland Community College in Austin, Minn. Upon retirement, Mark made his home in Madison Lake. He enjoyed spending time at the family farm in Balaton, Minn. and at the family cabin on Lost Moose Lake. It is well-known Mark always caught the biggest fish!
He is survived by his brother, Brian (Edie) Erickson and their two children, Seth and Emma, of Lakeville; and sister-in-law, Kay Buck (wife of Michael) and their son Nathan Erickson, of La Crosse, Wis. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bonnie and Gene, and brother, Michael Erickson, in 2002.
Funeral services will be held at All Saints Catholic Church in Madison Lake. Burial is planned for October 25, 2014 at Calvary Cemetery in Madison Lake with a graveside service.
