Marjorie "Marge" Severtson passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at Thorne Crest Retirement Center. She was 95 years old.

Marge was born on October 31, 1917 in Albert Lea. The daughter of Henry and Thea (Jensen) Severtson, she graduated from Albert Lea High School and was a resident of Albert Lea all of her life. She held several jobs throughout her life, working at Queens Stove Works, Church Engraving, Drug Supply, and May Engineering. She was considered a "professional volunteer" spending time at the Trinity Church office where she put together bulletins and flyers, and at St John's Lutheran Home at the reception desk. She also enjoyed traveling, with trips within the United States, as well as in Europe.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, participating in the Brazil Circle, Group Circle, and 52 years in the Altar Guild. In her spare time, she enjoyed embroidery, needlepoint, gardening, cards, and playing games. Family was very important to her, and she was like a grandmother to all her grand nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Thea; sister, Irene (George) Christensen; brothers, Raymond Severtson and Don (Marvel) Severtson; sister in law, Lois (Cliff) Brown; niece, Susan (Ron) Swanson; and great-grand nephew, Kyle Jansen.

Marge is survived by her nieces, Shirley (David) Wolfe of Cook, MN, Nancy (Gene) Millang of Freeborn, MN, and Linda (Scott) Larsen of Newburgh, IN; nephews, Gary (Gail) Severtson of Mound, MN, and Todd (Valerie) Severtson of Cincinnati, OH; grand nieces and nephews, Dan (Janis) Wolfe, Deb (Chuck) Jansen, Tom Wolfe, Ben (Sarah) Severtson, Jill (Jeff) Groves, Lee (Jesseah) Severtson, Melissa (Drew) Watters, Brad (Nicole) Larsen, Olivia Severtson, Chris (Sneha) Swanson, and Carolyn (Matt) Bickel; several great grand nieces and nephews; and other loving friends.

Special thanks to Thorne Crest Retirement Center for their compassion and care.

Memorials preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church, or to the Freeborn Area Cancer Chapter.
