Funeral services for Marjorie J. Butts will be held at 3 PM Friday, July 17, 2015 at Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea. Reverend Daphne Hamborg will be officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Albert Lea.
Marjorie Jean Butts, age 67, passed away peacefully at Hospice of North Iowa in Mason City on July 13, 2015. She was born on February 21, 1948 to Jean (Odden) and Robert Schupp in Austin, MN.
After graduating high school in Austin, Marjorie earned her associates degree at Riverland Community College in Albert Lea. On March 11, 1967, she married the love of her life, Michael Butts in Austin, MN. To this union three children were born.
Marjorie has lived in the Albert Lea and Austin area for the majority of her life. She held jobs at Godfather's Pizza in Austin and the Trades and Labor Credit Union in Albert Lea. For the last 15 years, she and Michael travelled often and wintered in Quartzsite, Arizona.
Marjorie enjoyed working with rocks- cutting, polishing, and making jewelry out of them. She also was skilled at doing macramé work. In her free time, she supported youth baseball in Albert Lea by attending games often. Marjorie loved having her family all together and spending quality time with them.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Michael Butts; sons, Thomas Butts (Jaime) and Todd Butts (Cherri); grandchildren, Taylor, Makenna, Ryan, Kailey, Jasmine, Colton, and Macey; brother, Jerry Schupp; and many other close relatives.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Timothy Butts; and brother, Michael Schupp.
