Mrs. Marilyn House passed away peacefully on February 10, 2025 in Owatonna, Minnesota at the age of 93.
A visitation will be held on Monday, February 17, from 1:00 PM until time of funeral service at 2:30 PM. Interment will be private at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Marilyn was born on December 28, 1931 in Grand Island, Nebraska. She graduated from Hastings College with a business degree. She played the trumpet in the college’s touring band. She worked in the Motor Vehicle Department with the highway patrol office in the state capitol of Lincoln Nebraska for several years.
Marilyn married William House on February 19, 1956 and the two welcomed a baby boy, Larry, followed by a baby girl, Janet.
She loved to travel, read non-fiction war books, and was an avid fan of Corn Husker college football. Her husband William said she was the sweetest girl and most compatible woman that God could have ever found for him, and described her as a rural girl who grew up and survived the world.
Marilyn is survived by her husband William; daughter Janet Lahr and son-in-law Paul Lahr.
She was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Grace Divan, and her son Larry House.
Marilyn will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
