Margaret Loven

Funeral Services for Margaret L. Loven, of Owatonna, formerly of Ellendale, will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, September 23 at the First Lutheran Church in Elllendale. The Reverend Richard L. Sliper will officiate. Interment will be in First Lutheran Cemetery, Ellendale. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Bonnerup Funeral Service is assisting the family. We lost our beautiful, hilarious, strong, wonderful, matriarch on Friday morning, September 20, at the Koda Living Center in Owatonna. She was 94. She was born on November 23, 1924, in Steele County the daughter of Irwin and Minnie (Miller) Muri. Margaret graduated from Ellendale High School. She was united in marriage to Lloyd J. Loven, during the time he was serving our country in the US Army. They were married on January 7, 1944, in Minneapolis, MN. After the war they made their home and raised their family in Ellendale. Margaret had worked for JC Penney in Owatonna and Lerberg’s Store in Ellendale. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Ellendale. Margaret had diverse interests, she enjoyed crocheting, fishing, playing cards, pull tabs and trips to the casino. Mostly she enjoyed making her house a home and doting on her grandchildren. Margaret is survived by her children: Jackie (Dave) DeVriendt of Owatonna, Jill (Winfred) Bergdale of Ellendale, Pamela Loven (Frank Hartley) of Duluth and Rick (Rose) Loven of Marysville, WA; grandchildren: Kevin Loven, Kyle Loven, Shami Loven, Kelly Simmons, Kara DeVriendt (Shawn Beseth), Matt DeVriendt, Katie Ladwig and Nikki (Justin) Michael; great grandchildren: Brinly, Nolin, Bergen, Elsa, Bodie, Liela and Isella; sister Janice (Harold) Jensen of Ellendale, MN, Helen Gavin of Lakeland Florida and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lloyd in 1991, her twin daughters Judy Lawson in 1981, and Jean Loven in infancy, brothers Maynard Muri, LaVerne Muri and sister Doris Mueller.
