Mardell Robinson

August 24, 1928 — February 25, 2015

Funeral services for Mardell Lorraine Robinson of New Richland, MN, will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, February 28, 2015 at the All Saints Catholic Church in New Richland. Father Raul Silva will officiate. Friends may greet the family one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, New Richland, MN.
Mardell died Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at the Whispering Oaks in Ellendale, MN, where she had resided for the past three weeks. She was 86 years of age.
Mardell was born August 24, 1928 in Waseca, County Minnesota, the daughter of Herman J. and Mary L. (Wood) Wenzel. She was a graduate of New Richland High School. On November 12, 1947 she was united in marriage to William "Bill" Robinson at the All Saints Catholic Church in New Richland.
Mardell was an active member of the All Saints Catholic Church, member of the Catholic Daughters and the Church Guild. She worked for many years at the Pioneer Telephone Company in New Richland and was the gambling bookkeeper for the American Legion. Mardell was President of the American Legion Auxiliary from 1971-1972. She also was a Cub Scout leader.
Mardell enjoyed playing bridge, knitting, sewing, crafts and reading. She lived life to the fullest.
She is survived by her children Cynthia Baier of New Richland, MN, Ricki and his wife Janice Robinson of Marshall, MN, Suzy and her husband Mitch Routh of New Richland, MN. Grandchildren include Heather (Jeff) Fulcher, Heath Baier, Thomas (Chrissy) Dixon, Cydney Lair, Travis (Lisa) Routh, Gabe (Katie) Routh, Jodi (Brandon) Wayne, Rebecca (Joe) Ottaviano, Ben (Michele) Robinson. Great grandchildren include Madelyn Woods, Dorien Baier, Lilly Baier, Aiden Shake, Bella Shake, Troy Newman, Levi Newman, Jessica Lane, Machalea Lane, Braden, Thor and Reese Routh, Amelia Routh, Eva, Owen and Quinn Wayne, Serra Robinson, Lilli Robinson and Shea Ottaviano. One brother survives Wayne and wife Merlys Wenzel of New Richland, MN, co-worker and special friend Gene Amely of New Richland, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Bill, son William "Butch" and infant son James and four brothers Harold, Jimmy, Francis and Lawrence Wenzel.
