Funeral services for Malinda R. Poplow of Ellendale, MN, will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at the First Lutheran Church in Ellendale. Pastor Arne Halbakken will officiate. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until the time of the service at the church. Interment will be in the First Lutheran Cemetery in Ellendale.
Mrs. Poplow died Saturday morning at the Albert Lea Medical Center; she was 97 years of age.
Malinda was born June 9, 1910 in Waseca County the daughter of Erick and Clara (Rieck) Wobschall. She attended country school in Waseca Co.
Malinda was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Ellendale where she had been a resident most of her life. Malinda was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, baking and quilting.
She is survived by her son Gary Poplow of Ellendale, MN, grandchildren Jeff Poplow, Elroy (Shannon) Poplow, Dawn Omvig and Roger Poplow. Great grandchildren include, Roxanne Saltou, Courtney, Tyler, Chelsea and Colton Poplow. There are two brothers, Wallace (Margie) Wobschall of Austin, MN, and Marvin (Joyce) Wobschall of Austin, MN. There are four sisters surviving, Mae (Harold) Hightshoe of Austin, MN, Ellis Reese of Ellendale, MN, Stella Kujath of North Branch, MN, and Gladys Weed of Glasgow, Montana. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Malinda was preceded in death by her parents, son and daughter in law Orlin and Joyce Poplow, brothers, Selmer (Alice) Wobschall, Ervin (Lil) Wobschall, Noel Wobschall, Wilbert Wobschall and infant brother Gordon Wobschall.
