Funeral services for Louis Nechanicky age 87 of Albert Lea will be 10:30 AM Friday, April 22, 2005 at St. Theodore Catholic Church, Albert Lea. Father Robert Schneider will officiate .Interment will be in St. Theodore Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Thursday with a prayer service 6:30 PM at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea and one hour before service at the church. Louis died Monday April 18, 2005 at Hospice of North Iowa in Mason City, IA.
Louis was born May 9, 1917 to Frank and Joanna (Staricky) Nechanicky of Ellendale, where he attended school.Louis farmed, drove gas truck for Community Oil and worked for Freeborn County Highway Dept. He was also in a band with the Minnesota Play Boys.
Louis was united in marriage to Edna Halvorson April 2, 1940. Louis is survived by: daughter: Loretta and husband, Luke Callahan; sons: Dennis and wife, Bonnie Nechanicky, David and wife, Jody Nechanicky, Paul and wife, Marilyn Nechanicky all of Albert Lea, MN; Grandchildren: Tony and wife, Cathy Callahan, Julie and husband, Bob Stephenson, David and wife, Cindy Callahan, June and husband, Kyle Katzenmeyer, Heidi and husband, Scott Enger, Matt and wife, Angi Nechanicky, Patrick and fiance, Amber Stolaas, Renee Nechanicky, Mark and wife, Taryn Nechanicky, Lisa and fiance, Travis Quam, Laura Nechanicky; Great Grandchildren: Anna Adams, Janelle & Ray Stephenson, Logan and Dakota Callahan, Dakota Katzenmeyer, Spencer Enger, Alexandria and Emma Nechanicky, Gavin Quam; Great Great Grandchildren: Ethan, Gage & Hunter Adams; brother: John and wife, Lucille Nechanicky; sisters-in-law: Florence and husband, Wally Munson, Vida Fuller; special friend, Esther Luna; and many nieces and nephews. Louis was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Edna; sisters: Jeanette, Marie, Ludmilla, Louise, Anna, Beatrice, Helen; brothers: Joe, Jim and Frank; sisters-in-law: Elda Halvorson, Irene & Arlene Nechanicky; brothers-in-law: Leslie Halvorson, Lester Fuller, Walter Hudrlik, Rudy Rudbeck, Edward Coughlin, Fred Haas, Jerry Guenette & Iver Salf.
