LouAnn K. Hultgren passed away peacefully in Albert Lea, Minnesota, on December 21, 2024. Born in the same town she cherished throughout her life, LouAnn was born to Gladys and Glenn Hallum on December 26, 1950. On July 24, 1993, LouAnn married her husband, Lenny Hultgren at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.
Throughout her life, LouAnn enjoyed dancing and always had fun. She would dance with anyone who would oblige, often turning her own kitchen into a dance floor that radiated joy. For LouAnn, life was meant to be celebrated, and she made every moment count by ensuring that her home was a welcoming space filled with good food and laughter. Guests were always fed, whether they were hungry or not, with plenty of leftovers to take home. LouAnn held many careers through her life,but had recently retired as a dietary aide from Oak Park Place, where she cherished caring for her residents.
LouAnn is survived by her loving children: Tammy (Dan) Johnson, Michelle McClish, Michael (Stephanie) Olson, and Dominique Caspers; sister Rebecca Green; brother Brad (Angie) Hallum; mother-in-law, Delores Nasby; brother-in-law, Lon (Ann) Hultgren; sisters-in-law, Julie Hultgren, Sherri (Ed) Twohey, Deb Osowski (Brian Stivers); her cherished grandchildren: Nathan (Tayler) Johnson, Spencer (Alexis) Johnson, Jared McClish, Jacob McClish, Jessica (Cole) Baldwin, Alexa McCune (Caleb Snater), Maycee Stuckly, Gage (Hannah) Rider, Caleb Banks (Sarah Heggestad), Colby Banks, and Braden Abby. LouAnn was also a proud great-grandmother to twelve great-grandchildren, with one more on the way, due in April 2025. Additionally, she is survived by many nieces, nephews, cherished family members and many friends.
LouAnn now joins her beloved husband, Lenny Hultgren; her parents, Glenn and Gladys Hallum; her sisters, Sandra Hallum, Diane Anderson, and Darlene Johnson; brother-in-law, Mark Hultgren; twin nephews, Matthew and Michael Twohey; nephew, Hunter Hallum; great-nephew, Chance Hallum; and her father-in-law, Vern Nasby, in eternal rest.
A visitation to honor LouAnn will take place on December 27, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM. LouAnn will then be laid to rest at Central Freeborn Lutheran Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Mayo Clinic for Cancer Research or St. Croix Hospice.
