Lorraine Haug

Memorial services for Lorraine H. Haug will be held at 11 A.M. Monday, December 8, 2014 at LeSueur River Lutheran Church near New Richland, MN. Pastor Brian Gegel will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. A private committal service in the LeSueur River Lutheran Cemetery will precede the service.

Lorraine Harriet Haug passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna. She was 87. Lorraine was born on April 29, 1927 to Hazel and John Hagen. Lorraine grew up in the New Richland area. She was baptized on June 5, 1927 and confirmed on June 22, 1941 at LeSueur River Lutheran Church. Lorraine attended country school near the church and graduated from New Richland in 1944.

After graduation, Lorraine moved to Owatonna where she got a job at Federated Insurance. She moved to Waseca a year later. On September 24, 1946, she married Robert "Bobby" Haug at LeSueur River Lutheran Church. Together, they made their home in New Richland and were blessed with three children.

Lorraine worked as a bookkeeper at Herders, eventually the New Richland Co-Op. She stayed very active in the church, participating in the ladies aid, mission circle, and quilting group. She enjoyed golfing with her husband and their friends. They made annual trips up to Breezy Point every summer to play.

Lorraine was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her children, Mary Ann (Bob) Prideaux, Dennis Robert Haug, John "Jack" Ralph (Heather) Haug; grandchildren, Erin (Austin) Lane, Sarah Haug, Brian Haug; great-grandchildren, Autumn Wade, Jordan Gladwin, Savannah Gladwin, Stella Blue Lane, and one on the way; and her brother, Kenny Hagen.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Bobby Haug, and her parents, John and Hazel Hagen.
