Loretta Dingwall

Loretta passed peacefully March 19th, 2024 at the Good Samaritan Retirement Community. She was 93 years old.

Loretta was born in Hebron, ND on June 29th, 1930 to Math and Elizabeth Messer Jantzer. She attended school in Hebron where she graduated. She married Les Dingwall on February 5th, 1959. Together they raised their 3 daughters Sandy, Karla, and Connie in Dickinson and Ellendale, ND. While the girls were in school, Loretta stayed busy taking care of the home. The family took lots of camping trips together around the midwest. Once they all graduated she worked as an Auction Clerk for several years. She was a dedicated and loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Loretta stayed busy after retirement with baking, bowling league, and watching the Minnesota Twins baseball games. She was a lifelong fan and always knew when they were playing next. After Les retired, they enjoyed spending time being snowbirds in Arizona for 15 years.

Loretta enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Every summer Les and Loretta traveled to southern Minnesota and northern Iowa to spend time with everyone. In 2023 Les and Loretta moved from Ellendale, ND to the Good Samaritan Community in Albert Lea to be closer to family.

Loretta is survived by husband, Les Dingwall, her children Sandy (Dave) Schweich, Karla (Larry) Larson, and son in law Joe Kabrud, her grandchildren Kelci (Zach) Ringham, Scot Kabrud, and Sara Kabrud, her great grandchild Lyzni Ringham, and her sisters Vernetta (Jim) Gress, and Emma (Marvin) Hamann. Passing before Loretta was her daughter, Connie Kabrud, grandchild Madison Kabrud, her parents Math and Elizabeth Messer Jantzer, and her sisters Clara (Richard Renner and Russel Fadness) and Betty (Mike) Krous.

We will miss her dearly. The family would like to especially thank the staff at Good Samaritan Retirement Community and St. Croix Hospice for their continued care for Loretta.

The funeral for Loretta will be held at Bonnerup Funeral Home on Saturday, April 13th, 2024. Visitation will be from 10am-11am, service at 11am, with interment at Graceland Cemetery, and lunch following. All family and friends are welcome to attend and celebrate Loretta's life.
