LESLEY LAWRENCE DE NAMUR
The Memorial Service for Lesley Lawrence De Namur will be
held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 23, 2005 at Grace Lutheran Church in Albert Lea, MN. The Reverend John Henriksen will officiate. Burial will be in Fort Snelling
National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9-11 on Wednesday at the church.
Lesley Lawrence De Namur died on Saturday, February 19, 2005, after a long battle with cancer. He was 58 years old.
Born on October 14, 1946, to Lawrence and Doris (Correy)
De Namur in Green Bay, WI. Les attended St. Phillip's Catholic School and Premontre High School. He went on to earn a bachelor's degree and a Master's of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin. Les was a loving husband and father, a distinguished veteran, a respected businessman and an avid pilot and golfer.
Les volunteered to serve in the United States Army from 1966 - 1969.
He was a First Lieutenant and an Executive Officer in the 1st of 7th Air Calvary in the Vietnam War. Les was awarded a silver star, a combat infantry badge, a purple heart and three bronze stars for his distinguished service.
Before becoming a self employed financial consultant, Les
worked for General Foods, Dakota Bake and Serve, Green Giant, Land O' Lakes and Farmstead Foods.
Les was a proud member of the Albert Lea Community for 25 years. He consistently worked to give back, donating his time as Vice President and Director of Greater Jobs Inc., Chairman of Agricultural Commitee, on the Freeborn County
Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the advisory board for
MN South Central Technical College, member of the Elks Club and attended Grace Lutheran Church.
A loving father and devoted family man, Les married Dinah
Standke Quinlivan in July of 1986.
Les is survived by his wife Dinah; two daughters Jordan
De Namur-Paul and husband Damian Paul of Oro Valley, AZ; and
Devan Quilnlivan and fiance Lucas Brua of Milwaukee, WI, He was also survived by mother Doris of Green Bay, WI. Mother-in-law Janette Standke of Owatonna, MN; brother Richard, wife Ruth and nephew Ryan De Namur, Plano, TX; niece Michelle and fiance Gore Mbaitoloum of Silver Spring, MD; brother-in-law Ron Standke (Jody) of Owatonna, MN; sister-in-law Becky Haas (Gregg) of Owatonna, MN; sister-in-law Brenda Feyereisn of Northfield, MN; and many nieces and
nephews in three families.
He was preceded in death by his father Lawrence De Namur,
father-in-law Myron Standke, brother-in-laws Daniel and Rick Standke, grandparents and aunts and uncles.
