Remembering the life of Leo A. Hefner
The Funeral Service for Leo A. Hefner of 117 N. 7th Avenue, Albert Lea, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 25, 2004 at St. Theodore Catholic Church in Albert Lea. The Reverend Robert Schneider will officiate. Interment will be in
St. Casimir Cemetery in Wells, MN., Visitation will be from 4-7p.m. on Monday at
Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea, and one hour before the service at the church. There will be a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Leo died on Friday, May 21, 2004 at the Good Samaritan Center in Albert Lea.
He was 87.
Leo was born on February 28, 1917, to Anthony and Sophie (Hadlick) Hefner in Walnut Lake Township, Faribault County, MN.
He married Olive Sonnek on November 25, 1941 in Wells. He lived around Easton, and then moved to Wells and worked at the tile plant. He later moved to Albert Lea where he worked at Wilson and Co. until his retirement. After retiring he was on the School Patrol for 14 years. Leo enjoyed gardening, playing cards and traveling.
He is survived by his wife Olive of Albert Lea.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Ernest, Arnold, and Florin, sisters: Catherine Dulas, Sister Mary Jane, Helen Rauenhorst, Marie Manwarren,
Theresa Hefner and Emma Schrader.
