Memorial services for Vonnie Oftedahl will be held at 11 A.M. Friday, October 17 at First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea, MN. Visitation will be from 5-7 P.M. Thursday, October 16 at Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea and again one hour prior to the service at church. Pastor John Holt will be officiating. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery in Albert Lea.

LaVonne "Vonnie" Oftedahl passed away peacefully at her home on October 11, 2014. She was 89 years old. Vonnie was born in Albert Lea on July 16, 1925 to Clara and J. Henry Hovland. She was a lifelong resident of Albert Lea, graduating from Albert Lea High School in 1942. Vonnie was a very active member at First Lutheran Church. She married Paul Oftedahl, Sr. on August 4, 1946.

Vonnie was employed many years as a clerk at the Albert Lea Public Library and at Four Seasons. She volunteered at the hospital and was an active member of the Hospital Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary. In her free time, Vonnie enjoyed reading books, doing crossword puzzles, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her son, Stefan (Jaymee) Oftedahl and their daughter, Brianna, of Albert Lea and son, Paul Jr. (Kathy) Oftedahl and their children, Kalea and Kyan, of Decorah, IA; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Duane and Carla Oftedahl of Sun City, AZ and Ralph and Helen Hoeper of Austin, MN; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Oftedahl Sr; parents, Clara and J. Henry Hovland; parents-in-law, Ben and Bertha Oftedahl; and sister-in-law, Karen Shreiner.
