Lavonne Eckert

November 25, 1925 — October 18, 2012

The funeral service for Lavonne Ione Eckert of Albert Lea, Minnesota will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at Salem Lutheran Church, Albert Lea. The Reverend Mark Niethammer will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00p.m. Monday at the church.
Lavonne died Thursday October 18, 2012 at Mayo Health System Albert Lea. She was 86 years old.
Lavonne was born November 25, 1925 in Albert Lea, Minnesota to Edward and Hazel (Lau) Schott. She has lived in Albert Lea most of her life with the exception from June 1942 through September 1943 when she resided in Delavan and Amboy, Minnesota. Lavonne graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1944. She married Lynwood (Bud) Eckert on October 5, 1947. Lavonne was a member of Salem Lutheran Church and was very active in the church circle, prayer chain, library and action committee. She also taught Sunday school and Bible school. Lavonne worked nine years as a registrar for the Boy Scouts of America. She also worked with the accounts receivable at Fountain Products and worked 5 years for Four Seasons Travel and part time for two years for Northland Organ. Lavonne belonged to the VFW Auxiliary. Lavonne spent her free time working on the family tree, gardening and growing roses, baking and playing the organ.

Lavonne is survived by her children: Larry Eckert and his wife Sue of Apple Valley, Minnesota, Patricia Nelson and her husband Brad of Turlock, California and James Eckert of Colorado Springs, Colorado; grandchildren: Mark and his wife Ingrid, Amy, Angela, Christine and her husband Keith, Brad Jr. and Randy; many great grandchildren; sisters: Valta Hestness of Albert Lea, Minnesota and Elaine Cox of Pharr, Texas.

Lavonne is preceded in death by her parents: Edward and Hazel Schott; husband: Lynwood (Bud) Eckert; daughter: Pamela; grandson: Brian; great granddaughter: Natalie; sister: Blanche Adams
