Funeral Services for Laura Seifert of Elgin, IL, formerly of Albert Lea, will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, December 28, at Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea, MN, The Reverend John Holt will officiate. Interment will be in Salem Memorial Cemetery, Lake Mills, IA. Laura died at Presence St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin on Wednesday, December 20. She was 94. She was born in Lake Mills, Iowa on June 27, 1923, the daughter of John and Clara (Jacobson) Bergstad. She grew up on a farm in Vinge, Iowa and married and shared her life with Dale Seifert, who died in 2008. She was the loving mother of Richard Seifert of Fort Collins, CO, Vern (Judy) Seifert of LaCrescent, MN, and Linda Baier of Gilberts, IL; cherished grandmother of six; great grandmother of 13; and aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, daughter-in-law Marge Seifert, son- in -law Mike Baier; sisters: Lucile “Tootie” Lunning, Hazel O’Rourke , Ode Hamson, Cora Teigen; brothers, Benny, Joseph, Eddie, Carl, and Martin Bergstad as well as nieces and nephews. The memories you gave your children and grandchildren will be with us forever and always.
