Funeral Services for Kenneth L. Fischer of, Albert Lea, will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, July 30, 2005 at St. Theodore Catholic Church. Father Jim Berning will officiate. Interment will be in St. Theodore Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded by Albert Lea Veteran's Organizations. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00p.m. on Friday at Bonnerup Funeral Service and one hour before the service at thc church. There will be
a prayer service at 6:30 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
Kenneth died on Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at the Albert Lea Medical Center. He was 77.
He was born on May 4, 1928, in Freeborn County the son of Frank and Mildred (Guenther) Fischer.
He attended country school in district #81 and later Alden High School. As a young man he began farming and then in 1953, he was drafted into the U.S. Army where he served until 1955.
Following his return from the service he married Delores Mucha on August 27, 1955, at St. Theodore Catholic Church.
The couple made their home in Albert Lea, and skilled craftsman that he was he built the house that became their family home on Belgrade Drive. He worked as a cabinet maker for Ring Cabinet and then retired from Streater after
31 years, where he had worked in the installation department. He worked for an additional 16 years for Snyder Drug, traveling to set up and install
fixtures for their stores.
He was a member of St. Theodore Catholic Church, the American Legion and the V.F.W.
In his leisure time he was always building something, and also enjoyed music, accomplished at playing the accordion, piano and organ.
He will be greatly missed by his family: wife Delores of Albert Lea, four sons: Keith Fischer, Kent Fischer, Kevin Fischer and his wife Layle and their son Daniel all of Albert Lea; Dwayne and his wife Amy and their son Owen of Rosemount, MN; brother Orville Fischer and his wife Darlene of Owatonna, and sister Ardus and her husband Tenford "Sandy" Sanderson of Alden; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Mildred Fischer and a brother Donald.
