Remembering the life of Kenneth L. Berg...
The Funeral Service for Kenneth L. Berg of New Richland, MN., will be
held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 20, 2004 at LeSueur River
Lutheran Church, rural New Richland. Pastor Charles Espe will officiate.
Interment will be in LeSueur Lutheran Cemetery. Military Honors will be
accorded by the New Richland American Legion. Visitation will be from
4:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. on Friday at Friedrich Funeral Home, New Richland
and one hour before the service at the church.
Kenneth died at his home on Tuesday, November 16, 2004. He was 85.
He was born in rural New Richland on November 1, 1919 the son of
Martin and Ragna (Rugroden) Berg. He attended country school.
He served our country in the U.S. Army.
When he returned from the service he began farming.
On December 26, 1946, he married Marvel Fratzke at a Lutheran Parsonage in
Albert Lea. They lived and farmed in Geneva, Ellendale, and New Richland.
Kenneth also did plastering work and he later worked at the Hunting Elevator
until his retirement.
He was an active member of the New Richland American Legion, where he
had served in several areas including being commander and he was
a lifetime member of the V.F.W. in Waseca.
He is survived by four children: Nancy and her husband Dale Baanrud of Anoka, MN., Dale Berg and his wife Sharon of Arlington Heights, Illinois., Neil K. Berg and
his wife Collette of Waseca, MN., Dean Berg and his wife Liz of Palmdale, CA.,
grandchildren: Scott Baanrud and his wife Jessica of Eden Prairie, MN., Corey Baanrud of Anoka, MN., Stacy Baanrud, of Anoka, Mn., Ryan Berg and his wife Amy of Lawrence, Kansas, Blair Berg of Arlington Heights, Illinois., Jonathan Berg of Waseca, Elizabeth Berg of Roseville, MN., Kristin Berg of Waseca, MN., Katie Berg of Palmdale, CA., Jesse Berg of Palmdale, CA; two sisters Helen Frisk of Spokane, WA., Hazel Lewer of Oregon, sisters-in-law Lillian Berg of New Richland, Norma Kauffman of Wells, MN., brother-in-law Roger Jorgenson of Albert Lea, and many
nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death his parents Martin and Ragna Berg, mother-in-law and
father-in-law, his wife Marvel, brothers and sisters: Melvin Berg, Ruby Frisk, Lawrence Berg, Orville Berg, Harold Berg, Ella Hanson, Milford Berg, Julia Berg
