Kathy VanRiper

Funeral services for Kathy K. VanRiper of Albert Lea , MN , will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, March 16, 2009 at the First Baptist Church of Albert Lea, MN. Pastor Clayton Balsley will officiate. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 15, 2009 from 4 until 7 PM at the Bonnerup Funeral Service, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery .

Mrs. VanRiper died Wednesday evening at her home in Albert Lea. She was 59 years of age.

Kathy was born January 28, 1950 in Austin , MN , the daughter of Robert and Patricia (Thomas) Stockdale. She was a graduate of Austin High School . On March 12, 1968 she was united in marriage to Robert VanRiper in Mason City , Iowa .

Kathy had been a resident of Albert Lea since 1969 and was a member of the First Baptist Church . She had been employed by Spurgeons Dept. Store and was a dietician at the Good Samaritan Center. She also worked at the Eastside Laundry and was a Day Care Provider.

Kathy enjoyed sewing, crafts, macramé, camping and fishing. Her family was her life and she loved cooking for them and listening to Elvis music.

Kathy is survived by her husband Robert of Albert Lea, MN, children; Holly VanRiper of Glenville, MN, Todd and his wife Kristina VanRiper of Albert Lea, MN. Grandchildren include; Donavon Martinson, Ashley, Zachary and Skylar Melom, Samantha, Kailey and Ryley VanRiper. One brother Steven Stockdale of Las Vegas, NV, sister Debra (Craig) Prihoda of Albert Lea, MN. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. In-laws include; Sandy Vanwilgen of Gilbert, AZ, Janice (Sonny) Vanwilgen of Maple Island, MN, Jim VanRiper of Geneva, MN, Cheryl (Ray) McManaman of Fort Lupton, CO. Becky (Charles) Phagan of Greeley, CO, Alan VanRiper of Albert Lea, MN, Kenny R. VanRiper of Albert Lea, MN, Cynthia VanRiper of Albert Lea, MN. Father in law; Kenny W. VanRiper of Albert Lea , MN .

She was preceded in death by her parents, mother in law; Wilda VanRiper, brother in law; Gene Vanwilgen and nephew Philip.
