Kathleen Cormier

Graveside Services for Kathleen M. Cormier of Albert Lea, MN, will be held at  9:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 16, at Hillside Cemetery in Sheffield, IA.

Kathleen died on Wednesday, May 20 at the Estates at Roseville in Roseville, MN. She was 88. She was born on October 9, 1931, in Chapin, Iowa, the daughter of Abel and Edna (Bird) Heitland. She graduated from Albert Lea High school in 1950 She married Valmore Cormier in June of 1955 in Chicago, IL. They were blessed with one son, Mark. They were later divorced. In Albert Lea Kathleen had worked various jobs at Hotel Albert, Woolworths, Pamida and Shopko.

Kathleen is survived by her son Mark (Isolde) Cormier, and their children Chris and Kira of Germany, her nieces Tracy (Matthew) Dirkson of Sheffield, IA, Tammy (Travis) Litterer of Green, IA, nephew Lyle (Maria) Mathers of Green, IA and all of her “like family” friends at Just Like Home Place. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Alberta Mathers, and stepmom Minnie Heitland.
