A Celebration for Judith L. (Engbritson) McKinnon, of Albert Lea, will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday October 28, 2017 , at the Albert Lea Vineyard Church. Interment will be in Hollandale, Cemetery Judith died on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Thorne Crest Retirement Community in Albert Lea. She was 74. She was born on May 18, 1943, in Freeborn County the daughter of Earl and Leona (Hansen) Engbritson. “Engi” or “Judi” as her friends called her, graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1961. She attended Hamline University and later graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in Construction Engineering. She lived in Hattiesburg, Mississippi until 1989 when she returned to Minnesota to help care for her aging parents. After her return to the Albert Lea area, she worked in real estate and later property management. She grew up attending the Hollandale Congregational Church and in her later years enjoyed the Albert Lea Vineyard Church. Judi was a passionate collector, acquiring a very eclectic array of items including antiques and art pieces. She loved watching sports, and was an enthusiastic Vikings and Twins fan. Judi’s greatest joy came from the gathering of family and friends and her dog Blue, her constant companion. She is survived by 2 daughters: Melinda (Darin) Bokeno, and son Andrew, of Forest Hills, Maryland, Michelle (Joey) Willoughby and daughter Joie, of Little Rock, AR, niece Diane Barackman and family of California. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother LeRoy Earl “Roy” Engbritson. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials.
