Memorial services for Joyce "Joy" Wilder of Minneapolis, MN, will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at St Theodore Catholic Church in Albert Lea, MN. Father Timothy T. Reker and Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in St Casmir Catholic Cemetery, Wells, MN.
Joyce died Friday, February 28, 2014 at the Etena-Augustana Nursing Home in Minneapolis, MN. She was 66 years of age.
Joyce was born February 6, 1948 in Michigan the daughter of Clement (Bud) and Mary (Kent) Wilder. She graduated from Albert Lea High School. After graduation she moved to Minneapolis where she worked as a nurses aid in area nursing homes. Joyce was a very active and devoted member of the St Olaf Catholic Church. She loved to play cards, had a great sense of humor, enjoyed reading and during the summer months was an avid Minnesota Twins Fan. Her special time was always with her nieces and nephews.
Joyce is survived by her mother Mary Wilder of Wells, MN, bothers and sisters Dr. Larry (Miriam) Wilder of Williston, N.D., Chuck (Karen) Wilder of Albert Lea, MN, Ron (Beth) Wilder of Alden, MN, Ken (Sheryl) Wilder of Waseca, MN, Dave (Cari) Wilder of St. Cloud, MN, Tim (Nancy) Wilder of Warrens, WI, Kathy (Eric) Batt of Fishers, IN. There are 24 nieces and nephews, 17 great nieces and nephews and many aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her father "Bud" and her grandparents.
