Joel Howser

Joel Kent Howser of Hoschton, Georgia passed away peacefully after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis on February 23, 2020, at North East Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA. Joel was born in Albert Lea, Minnesota, April 22, 1948, and was the youngest of two children born to the late Violet L. Howser and Dale R. Howser.

Survivors include wife Susan J. Howser, daughters Dr. Maureen Howser of Tyler, Texas and Nicole Lennig (Jason) of Dacula, Georgia, and five grandchildren, Natalie Tucker, Kyle Tucker, Kiersten Lennig, Nathan Lennig and Carly Lennig and sister Marcia K. Wall (Kent).

Joel graduated in 1966 from New Richland High School, attended The University of Minnesota and completed a degree in Computer Science at Control Data Institute, Minneapolis, MN in 1968, and in 1973 he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business at The University of Oklahoma. He continued his education at The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Throughout his 47 year working career, Joel worked for Unisys, Recognition Equipment Inc., ScanOptics and FiServ. He held many managerial and Vice President positions in Development, Engineering, Software Design and Project Management.

Due to the Covid 19 Pandemic, a Memorial Service for Joel will be held at a later date.
