Memorial services for Joanne Marie Jenson of Albert Lea, MN will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, December 9, 2016 at the Bonnerup Funeral Service Chapel. Friends may greet the family one hour prior to the service at the Chapel. Interment at a later date will be held at Ft Snelling National Cemetery.
Joanne died Saturday, December 3, 2016 at her home in Albert Lea. She was 83 years of age.
Joanne was born July 19, 1933 in Janesville, MN, the daughter of Irene Hess and Clifford Chrisman. She was a graduate of Albert Lea High School. After high school she was united in marriage to Arthure Winsmore Deal, and later in life to Norval Jens Jenson both of whom preceded her in death.
Joanne was a member at the Grace Lutheran Church and had been active in the caring and sharing. She had been employed as an administrative secretary at the Hormel Corporation, a legal secretary in Janesville, MN, account supervisor at Queen's Products in Albert Lea and for many years worked in the cafeteria at Hawthorne School retiring well into her 70's.
Joanne enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing scrabble and 500 but most of all loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children; Kathleen (Ivan) Appel of Albert Lea, MN, and their children Hillary (Tim) Glen and daughter Jenna, Abigail (Trent) Goskeson and son Graham, Evan and daughters Grace, Alix (Chad) and her son Brayden Farley, and Emily (Dan) Lein, of Sauk Center, MN, Laurie Jo Deal (Wes Olson) of Albert Lea, MN, and her daughter Cassandra Deal Rasmussen. Also surviving is one brother Charles (Jeanine) Anderson of Albert Lea, MN; sisters Barb (Kenneth) Schroeder of Albert Lea, MN, Evelyn Kast of Albert Lea, MN, Mary Anderson of Albert Lea, MN, Deborah Johnson of Albert Lea, MN, and Randi (Bill) Paige of Columbia Heights, MN, special cousin Ambrose Chrisman of Paducah, KY, and many nieces and nephews. There are in laws surviving; Dorothy Birch of Mason City, IA, Vern (Ann) Voss of Bemidji, MN, and Al (Donna) Rieber of Apache Junction, AZ.
Joanne was preceded in death by her mother Irene Anderson, father Clifford Chrisman, stepfather Earl Anderson, husbands Arthure and Norval, sisters Carol Cross and Virginia Meunier, and brother Roland Anderson.
Joanne was a "Wonderful" loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was our "Angel" on earth. We will miss her greatly but are so happy she is at peace.
