The Memorial Service for Joanne Guffey of
Albert Lea
will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 26, 2009 at St. Theodore Catholic Church, Albert Lea. Father James Berning and Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate.
Following cremation, interment will be in St. Theodore’s
Catholic
Cemetery
. Friends may visit with the family one hour before the service at
the church on Thursday.
Bonnerup Funeral Service is assisting the family
with arrangements.
Joanne died on Friday, March 20, 2009 at the Good Samaritan Center with her loving husband at her side.
She was 72.
She was born on April 14, 1936, in
Estherville

Iowa
, the daughter of LaRue and Kathryn (Bosold) Wiseman. She graduated from high school

Ringsted

Iowa
.
Joanne was united in marriage to James “Jim” Guffey on September 5, 1964, in
Estherville
,
Iowa
. They first made their home in
Algona
,
Iowa
. Then they lived in
Albert Lea
where she worked at the Albert Lea Freezer Warehouse from 1966 until 1968, and from 1979 until 1988 at Sullivan Paint Company as a bookkeeper. In 1988 they moved and had lived in
Iowa
,
Colorado
and
Wisconsin
until returning to
Albert Lea
in October of 2004.
A member of St. Theodore’s Catholic Church, she had been active in the CCW.
Joanne was an avid bridge player, especially enjoying the socializing.
She will be greatly missed by her family, husband Jim of Albert Lea,

She was preceded in death by her father LaRue Wiseman, a daughter i
n infancy and also son John shortly after birth.
