JoAnn Golbuff

Visitation for JoAnn M. "Jo" Golbuff will be from 5-7 PM on Saturday December 6, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church, and again one hour prior to the service. Funeral services for JoAnn will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday December 7, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Reverend Curtis Zieske will officiate. Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery.
JoAnn passed away on Wednesday December 3, 2014 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. She was 82 years old.
JoAnn was born on March 16, 1932 to John T. and Alma S. (Mattson) Johnson in Flasher, ND. The family moved to Rake, IA in 1934 where she was baptized and confirmed. The family then moved to Northwood, IA in 1948 where she graduated high school. She continued on to college and attended Waldorf Jr. College and then Mankato State University.
She married Dale Golbuff on June 1, 1952 at the Lutheran Church in Rake. The couple moved from Belmond, IA, Parks Air Force Base, Northwood, IA, and then settled in Albert Lea in 1965.
She was very active in the Worth Co. ARC, 6 season Christian Riders, Toys for Tots, a Trustee for the Salvation Army Board, and involved in the Trinity Lutheran Church since 2006. She enjoyed motorcycling, boating on Fountain Lake at "Golbuff's Ghetto Dock", camping, reading, painting, and spending time with her grandchildren. JoAnn and Dale also enjoyed spending winters in Texas. Most of all, she loved her family.
JoAnn has been a wonderful, loving wife, mother, mother in-law (Gr Ma Ma) and friend to many people. She taught school for 31 years in Belmond, Northwood, and Albert Lea. JoAnn taught us with her actions and love many things including, respect, dignity, faith, cheerful outlook, but most of all to love your family with your whole heart. She always had a listening ear and provided words of encouragement and wisdom.
JoAnn is preceded in death by her parents, John and Alma; and sisters, Mildred, Gladys and Eddie.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 62 years, Dale, of Albert Lea; children, Paul (Annie) Golbuff, of Lincoln City, OR, Ted (Kathy) Golbuff, of Minneapolis, and Scott (Cindy) Golbuff, of Fort Collins, CO; grandchildren, Cory (Whitney) Arnold, Lissa (Ben Quinn) Arnold, Nick (Emily Peterson), Alex, and Jenni Golbuff; special friends Jim and Jody Gatshet, as well as a multitude of friends.
We will miss Jo and grieve her loss but we are so thankful and blessed to have her in our lives. Blessed be her memory.
