The funeral service for Jeffrey Scott Ashmead of Emmons, Minnesota will be 11:00a.m. Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea, Minnesota. The Reverend Cathi Braasch will officiate. Interment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service and one hour before the service on Thursday.
Jeffrey died Saturday, January 5, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, Minnesota.. He was 50 years old.
Jeffrey was born January 4, 1963, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Jeffrey graduated from Minneapolis North High School in 1981. He enlisted in the Army right after graduation and served in the Army from 1981 -1994. After being honorably discharged, Jeffrey moved back to Minnesota.
Jeffrey is survived by his wife Rebecca Ashmead; son: Eric Gonzales; daughter: Kelly Gonzales; his lovely granddaughter: Mia; mother: Rita Gulsun; brother: Shawn Ashmead and his wife Hannah; two sisters: Deanna Ashmead and Kimberly (Raymond) Berkley; many aunts, uncles and cousins; nieces and nephews; his loving pets: Patches, Precious, MamaKitty and Tommy
Jeffrey was preceded in death by his father: Jimmy Ashmead; brother: Mike Grimes.
Jeffrey was a great husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, uncle, and friend. He will be sadly missed by all who loved him.
