Funeral services for Jay G. Fenwick of Albert Lea, MN, will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, Feb, 1, 2008 at St Theodore Catholic Church. Father James Berning and Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5 until 7 PM at the Bonnerup Funeral Service, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Sault Sainte Marie, MI.

Mr. Fenwick died Saturday, January 26, 2008 at St John?s Lutheran Home in Albert Lea. He was 83 years of age.

Jay was born January 3, 1925 in Sault Sainte Marie, MI, the son of George and Gertrude (Gilroy) Fenwick. He was a graduate of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI. On September 12, 1943 he was united in marriage to Claire Lamontagne in Indianapolis, IN. Jay served in the United States Navy as a radioman from 1943 until 1945. After his discharge he was employed by the Montgomery Ward Co, and spent several years in Chicago, IL. In 1965 they moved to Albert Lea where he was V.P. of Engineering and Design for the Streator Co.

Jay was a member of St Theodore Catholic Church, the American Legion Club and the Elks Club.

In his free time, Jay had a love for painting and was a founding member of the Albert Lea Art Center. He also enjoyed reading and spending time with his family. He was very proud of his Scottish heritage.

Jay is survived by his wife Claire of Albert Lea, MN, daughter Janet and her husband Charles Fredericks of Woodstock, N.Y. There are five grandchildren; Heidi Fredericks, Jennie Fredericks, Chaz Fredericks, Scott Fenwick and Jay Fenwick. Also surviving are six great grandchildren: Dustin, Brittany, Claire, Max, Houston, Jay; daughter-in-law; Cheryl Fenwick of LaPorte, TX, Brother Gordon (Pat) Fenwick of Savannah, GA, and sister Carol (Alex) Kloster of Eagle River, MI.

Jay was preceded in death by his parents, son Jay Jr. (Bucky) and Brother Mason Fenwick.

Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers to St Theodore Catholic Church.
