Memorial services for Janis Marie Klinger of New Richland, MN will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the St Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Richland, MN. Pastor Scott Williams will officiate. Friends may greet the family one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the St Peter Cemetery, New Richland, MN.
Janis died Monday, March 6, 2017 at the New Richland Care Center. She was 81 years of age.
Janis was born November 2, 1935 the daughter of Simon and Lola (Rosacker) Nesdahl. She attended country school in Lemond Township and Owatonna High School. On November 13, 1953 she was united in marriage to Earl Klinger at the Pontoppidan Lutheran Church. Janis was an active member of St Peter Lutheran Church and a member of the church circle. With her husband Earl they owned and operated the Welcome Inn Restaurant in Ellendale, MN. Janis also worked for over 14 years as a baker at the Trails Travel Center in Albert Lea, MN.
Janis loved baking and cooking. She was a very good seamstress, enjoyed gardening and polka dancing with her husband.
Janis is survived by her daughters Barbara Klinger of Owatonna, MN, Cynthia (Tom) Olson of New Richland, MN, grandchildren Brian Olson and Gena Olson, sisters Anita (Bill) Francisco of Lindstrom, MN, Karen (Orlo) Krause of Dalhart, TX, Linda (Greg) Caron of Lee's Summit, MO, brother Duane (Roberta) Nesdahl of Conway, AR, sisters in law Shirley Nesdahl of San Jose, CA, Bonita Berge of London Ontario, Helen Baker of Albert Lea, MN and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Earl in 2015, brothers Jerald, Curtis and Dennis Nesdahl, mother and father in law Lorenz and Elsie Klinger and one brother in law Loren Baker.
