Remembering the life of Janice Mary Putman....
The Funeral Service for Janice Mary Putman of Albert Lea, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at St. Theodore Catholic Church.
Father James Berning and Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. Bonnerup Funeral Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
Janice died on Sunday, January 20, 2008 at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester after a difficult struggle with cancer. She was 63.
She was born on November 21, 1944, in Spirit Lake, Iowa, the daughter of Peter and Margaret (Wirtz) Majerus.
Janice graduated from Lakefield High School.
On June 14, 1965, she married Alvin W. Putman in Spirit Lake, Iowa. They had lived in Albert Lea for 25 years, in Iowa for 3 years and returned to Albert Lea two years ago. She had worked as a CNA in Owatonna.
She returned to school and obtained her Medical Transcription Certification from Riverland Community College, maintaining a 3.9 grade point average.
She enjoyed working from home as a Medical Transcriptionist.
Janice was a passionate bingo player, enjoyed camping, Twins Baseball, and country music. She loved to watch law shows on TV, such as Law & Order and Monk and also playing cards with family on the weekends. On Friday nights she liked watching family and friends bowl at Holiday Lanes. She especially loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Janice will be lovingly missed by her husband Alvin, children: Meg Lee (Gerald Brady) of Clear Lake, Iowa, LoriAnne Hanson (Doug) of Albert Lea, Angela Larson (Jim) of Albert Lea, and Alvin Putman Jr. (Dawn) of Albert Lea; 18 grandchildren: Jonathon Marquardt, Jeff Marquardt(Jaime) Alicia Peterson, Nicholas Lee, Shaina Peterson, Charlie Marquardt, Amber Lee, Ethan Marquardt, April Hansen, Ashley Lee, Tim Hansen, Kelsea Peterson, Tom Hansen, Jimmy Hansen, Spencer Larson, Zachary Larson, Sean Putman, Makayla Putman; great grandchildren: Daniel, Bryce & new baby Caleb Michael Marquardt; two sisters: Joyce Howes (Bruce) of Twin Cities, JoAnn Stumpf (David) of Lakefield; brother
Jerry Majerus of Missouri; aunt Irene Wirtz and Uncle Clarence Majerus (Mina), sister-in-law:Alice Triggs (Stan), many other relatives and also her precious dog Penny.
Janice was preceded in death by a daughter in infancy and her parents.
