Memorial services for James D. (Butch) Sechrest of Albert Lea, MN, will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at the Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea, MN. Pastor Richard Spande will officiate. Friends may gather one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
James died Sunday, January 8, 2012 at the Mayo Health Systems Albert Lea. He was 68 years of age.
James was born January 28, 1943 in Jacksonville, FL, the son of James J. and Katherine (Williams) Sechrest. He attended public school in Brainerd, MN. James made his home in Albert Lea for the past 20 years. He was employed at Cedar Valley (Alpha Enterprise) and enjoyed the SPIRE program.
James loved listening to music, being sung to, watching movies and musicals, going to the ARC prom and the county fair. He loved to eat Twinkies, cotton candy and tacos and attending the grill outs every year. He liked to arm wrestle with the staff and as a youngster loved to pull pranks!
James is survived by one brother Robert Sechrest of Bremerton, WA, and his many friends at REM.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
