Funeral services for Irene Kay Holz of Glenville, MN, will be held at 1:30 PM Wednesday, December 3, 2003 at the Round Prairie Lutheran Church. The Reverend Tamara Dahlvang will officiate. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 2, 2003 from 4 until 8 at the Bonnerup Funeral Service, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Round Prairie Cemetery.
Irene died Saturday afternoon, surrounded by her family at her side, at the Albert Lea Medical Center. She had fought a courageous battle with cancer for the last twelve years. She was 46 years of age.
Irene was born August 31, 1957 in Albert Lea, MN the daughter of Robert and Rosie (Oudekerk) Holecek. She was a graduate of Glenville High School and the Albert Lea Technical College.
Irene was united in marriage to Elmer C. Holz Jr. on August 18, 1979 in Albert Lea, MN. She was employed as a receptionist at the Albert Lea Technical College and then by Truth Inc. in Owatonna, MN. Irene was a member of the Round Prairie Lutheran Church.
She enjoyed working puzzle books and spending time with her beloved pets, Lexie, Abby and Penny.
Irene is survived by her husband Elmer, parents Robert and Rosie Holecek of Glenville, MN. Brother Rodney Holecek of Glenville, MN., aunts, uncles and special cousins, Barb Braby, Karen Quam and Sara Belbeck.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Ralph and Irene Oudekerk and James and Lucille Holecek.
Irene will be sadly missed by her loving family and many friends.
