Helene Eastvold

The funeral service for Helene Ingeborg Eastvold of Hartland, Mn will be 10:00a.m.
Saturday, October 29, 2011, at Cross of Glory Lutheran Church, Hartland, MN. Reverend Dennis Frank will officiate. Interment will be in the Hartland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7p.m.Friday at Bonnerup Funeral Service Albert Lea and one hour before the service at the church.


Helene died Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Center. She was 93 years old.

Helene was born March 25, 1918 in Hartland Township, Freeborn County, Minnesota to Geslie and Gyda (Morreim) Furgeson. Helene married Trygve M. Eastvold on March 14, 1939 at the Little Brown Church and has resided in Hartland all her married life. She was a lifelong member of Cross of Glory Lutheran Church and had been active in the ladies aide, Bible study and church women. Through the years, Helene and Trygve had been 4H leaders, enjoyed traveling to Norway, Arizona, Washington and many other states. She also enjoyed embroidering towels and sewing baby quilts. Helene especially loved her family and reading the Bible daily.

Helene is survived by three children: Richard Eastvold and his wife Janet of Hartland, MN, Bonita Swanson and her husband Richard of North Mankato, MN and Lonney Eastvold and his wife Betty of Northwood, ND; daughter-in-law: Arlys Eastvold of Hartland, MN; 20 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Helene is preceded in death by her parents: Geslie and Gyda Furgeson; husband: Trygve Eastvold, sons: Kim Eastvold and David Eastvold; sister and brother-in-law: Clarine (Ben ) Pence
