Helen Rudolph

November 11, 1924 — April 5, 2013

The funeral service for Helen Mary Rudolph will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at St Theodore Catholic Church in Albert Lea. The Reverend Timothy Reker and Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate. Visitation starting at 9:30 until the time of the service.
Helen was welcomed into God's arms on the morning of April 5th at home with her family. She was 88 years old.
She was born on November 11, 1924 in Superior, WI to Steve and Mary Skochenski. She was confirmed at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Harding, MN where she grew up on the family farm. At an early age she left home to do housekeeping for others in order to assist with her family's finances. She was the eldest of eight children.
Helen was fortunate to have had the opportunity to attend high school and graduated from St Francis High in Little Falls, MN in 1941. On February 25, 1944, she was married to Arthur Rudolph at St Theodore Catholic Church. Together they raised six children, making Albert Lea their home.
Helen was an active member of her church, and was a strong and resilient woman. Faith, family, and community were her strengths. For many years she was a hospice volunteer, now a hospice recipient.
For twenty years she worked as a CNA at the Park Avenue Board and Care. Prior to that, her family was blessed to have her as a stay at home mom. There were always fresh baked goods, great meals, and a welcoming environment at the home. She had the ability to make wonderful meals out of nothing. Sewing clothing, cutting hair, scout mastering and leading, and attending school functions kept her busy.
She is survived by her loving husband, Art Rudolph of Albert Lea; children, Thomas Rudolph of Bloomington, MN, Barbara Rudolph of Cleveland, OH, LouAnn (James) Stoen of Albert Lea, Dean Rudolph of Alexandria, MN, Dale (Beverly) Rudolph of Shakopee, MN, and Mary Jo Goodman of Waukon, IA; grandchildren, Jade, Dustin, Jacob, Devin, Jonathon, Ramey, and Matthew; great grandchildren, Anna, and Jagger; step grandchildren, Anthony, Rebecca, Clinton, and Forrest; many grandcats and granddogs; brothers, Duane (Delores) Skochenski, and Allen (Sherri) Skochenski; brother and sister-in-laws, Allen (Ginny) Rudolph, Oliver (Marie) Rudolph, Jerry Rudolph, and Virgie (Leroy) Schreiner.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Steve and Mary Skochenski; sisters, Lucille, Adonna, Elizabeth, and Patricia; brother, Jack; sister-in-law, Grace; and step grandson, Travis.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Albert Lea Hospice or St Theodore Catholic Church.
