Funeral srvices for Helen Parks of Albert Lea, MN., will be held at 1:30 PM Tuesday, August 26, 2003 at the Grace Lutheran Church of Albert Lea. Pastor Todd Walsh will officiate. Visitation will be held Monday, August 25, 2003 from 4 until 8 at the Bonnerup Funeral Service and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery.
Helen died Saturday morning at the Good Samaritan Center in Albert Lea, she was 92 years of age.
Helen was born August 31, 1911 in Audubon County, Iowa the daughter of Lars and Kristine (Hansen) Petersen. She attended country School in Freeborn County. Helen was united in marriage to Harold Parks on October 31, 1930 in Sioux Falls, SD.
Helen was a Freeborn County resident most of her life and an active member of the Grace Lutheran Church. She was employed by the F.W. Wollworth Co., Deluxe Cleaners and for 15 years by Stephenson's in Albert Lea.
She was a member of the DAV and served as Past State Commander. She was also a member of the American Legion and VFW aux.
In her free time, Helen enjoyed reading.
Helen is survived by three nephews, Gary Anderson of Albert Lea, Mn., Allen Anderson of Albert Lea, Mn., and Dale (Ann) Anderson of Ellendale, Mn. One niece Beulah (Norris) Sigurdson of Albert Lea, Mn. One sister in law Cora Petersen of Albert Lea, MN.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one nephew Harold Anderson, one brother Harvey Petersen and one sister Clara Anderson.
