Funeral services for Helen Ivy (Milton) Lundblad of Albert Lea, MN, will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Albert Lea. Pastor Curtis Zieske will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Lakewood Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN.
Helen died on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at her home in the Thorne Crest Retirement Center Apartments. She was 97 years of age.
Helen was born March 5, 1914 in Havana, North Dakota, the daughter of Erie and Elizabeth Milton. She attended grade school and high school in Havana, North Dakota. After graduation she entered nurses training at Asbury Methodist Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. Upon receiving her degree in nurses training, she practiced general duty nursing and private duty nursing.
Helen was united in marriage to Gordon Nels Lundblad on June 20, 1936. They have one daughter, Carol E. Lundblad. When Gordon retired in 1977 they moved to Albert Lea, MN, to be close to their daughter She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. Helen enjoyed crafts, gardening and bird watching.
Survivors include her daughter Carol E. Lundblad of Albert Lea, MN, and two cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, husband Gordon and brother Harvey.
