Remembering the life of Helen V. Kraske
The Funeral Service for Helen V. Kraske of ThorneCrest Retirement Center,
Albert Lea, will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 27, 2005
at Trinity Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. Pastor Curtis Zieske will officiate. Interment will be in Lakewood Cemetery, Albert Lea.
Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. on Friday
at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea, and one hour before the service at the church.
Helen was born on April 14, 1921, in Albert Lea, the daughter of
Harold C. and Sarah (Hoium) Johnson.
She graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1939.
She married Delferd C. Kraske on June 8, 1941 at Trinity Lutheran Church.
She had worked in the office at Thompson &Wulff and Wilson & Co., and then
worked in the library for Albert Lea School District #241 for 20 years
before retiring in 1986.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she had been active in the
church women's groups and Bible studies.
She enjoyed getting together and visiting with her birthday group, co-workers at the school library and church friends.
She will long be remembered as an exceptional cook and baker. Her delicious meals and treats were enjoyed by all at gatherings of family and friends.
Helen died on Monday, August 22, 2005 at the Albert Lea Medical Center. She was 84.
She is survived by two children: Suzanne and her husband Bill Layton of Kilmarnock, VA, Paul Kraske and his wife Sally of Plymouth, MN, grandchildren: Ryan Nelson of Indianapolis, IN, Molly Nelson of Lawrence, KS, Amy and her husband, Kraig Stabenow of Minneapolis, MN., , Tim Kraske and Brian Kraske both of Plymouth, MN, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Orion and Theon Kraske of
Austin, MN and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Delferd in February of this year, three sisters Verna Sibbers, Evelyn Kraske and Arlida Venem.
