Funeral Services for Harvey E. Crumb, 98, of
11:00 A.M.,
Tuesday, August 3,
at
Father Swammi
officiated.
Interment was in
Friedrich Funeral Home, New Richland, assisted the family.
He was born on October 30, 1911, on the family’s Century Farm near Matawan.
He attended
As a young man he also did mail delivery.
On October 17, 1933, he was united in marriage to Irene E. Nelson.
Together they lived and farmed near Matawan until moving into town in 1990.
Throughout his life
Harvey had served on the Byron Township Board for more than 47 years, and
had also ran for the State Senate.
He was a lifetime member of All Saints Catholic Church.
Harvey enjoyed watching and playing baseball,
having played on
a state tournament team in his younger years.
He also enjoyed playing cards,
bowling, and loved talking and socializing with people.
He is survived by his son Gary Crumb of New
(Stephanie) Wendland, Deb (Steve) Williams, Brett (Laurie) Crumb, Bruce
(Theresa) Crumb, and Todd (
great grandchildren; brothers: Maxon (Isabelle) Crumb of Austin, Richard
(Anita) Crumb of New
Genelle Bergeson of Hayfield, Sister Janel Crumb of
nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Irene, a son in infancy, a
son Dale Crumb and his wife Barb, son-in-law Richard Wendland; brothers and sisters: John Crumb, Dorothy Bungarden, Charles Crumb,
Thomas Crumb, Margaret Rollenhagen, Robert Crumb, and Jeanice Downhour.
