Harvey died on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at Good Samaritan Center. He was 98. He had previously been a 6 year resident of the Broadway
Care Assisted Living.
He was born in Merton Township on June 23, 1909, the son of Emil and Minnie (Meschke) Bendorf. He went to country school and then later took
training on machines at a Technical School in Mpls.
Harvey had worked at an implement manufacturing plant and at Standard Oil Co. in Charles City, Iowa. For many years he mowed, raked and shoveled snow for several people and businesses in the Freeborn County area.
He is survived by his nephew Donald Longrehr, special friends Annette and Lowell Bruns of Alden, Annabelle Frazier and the residents of Broadway Care Assisted Living, and several other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Albert and Lloyd Bendorf, four sisters Adeline Longrehr, Alma Sepin, Ida Checkel and Elsie Brown.
Harvey lived a simple life and will be remembered for always giving, never taking. One small act of kindness and he would reply with
"And thank you for that & and there you have it."
The world is a better place because of you,
you will be "forevermore" in our hearts Harvey.
