Funeral services for Harriet Lorraine Rice Myhre of Hartland, MN, will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, November 29, 2014 at the Cross of Glory Lutheran Church in Hartland, MN. Reverend Dr. Mark Hillmer will officiate. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 4 until 7 PM at the Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea, MN, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Hartland Cemetery.
Harriet died Monday morning, November 24, 2014 at St Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN; she was 90 years of age.
Harriet Lorraine was born September 16, 1924, to Henry and Fern Jacobson Rice in Hartland Township. She was a member of Cross of Glory Lutheran Church in Hartland where she was baptized and confirmed. She belonged to Ladies Aid, Altar Guild and had been a Sunday school teacher and also taught Bible School. She also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Harriet worked for the New Richland School District in the cafeteria. She also worked at the New Richland Care Center.
Harriet graduated from Freeborn High School in 1942. She married Carl Joe Myhre in Hartland on September 12, 1947.
Harriet is survived by son Barry Jacobson of Albert Lea, MN, Roger (Vicki) Myhre of Mason City, Iowa, and daughter Fern (Barry) Oberg of Rochester, MN. She is also survived by grandchildren Roger (Kelly) Myhre Jr., Philip Myhre, Twyla (Andrew) Steenblock, Anjie (Keith) Bowman, Scott (Tracy) Oberg. Great grandchildren Austin, Zayne, Brianna, Christopher, Marisa, Isaiah, Madison, Brian, Alexis, Dominic, Calvin, Jacob, Trenton, Katelyn and Mikenzi. Great-great grandson Gavin. Sister in law Alice Miller and Brother in law Donald Myhre and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joe, brothers in law Ray Miller and Clifford Johnson and sisters in law Elaine Myhre and Marvel Johnson.
