Obituary: Harriet F. Mortensen
The funeral service for Harriet F. Mortensen of Albert Lea, Minnesota will be 11:00a.m. on Monday February 9, 2004 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Albert Lea. Pastor Curtis Zieske will officiate. Interment will be in Lakewood, Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour (10:00 a.m.) before the service at the church.
Harriet died Wednesday, February 4, 2004 at the Albert Lea Medical Center. She was 91 years old.
Harriet was born May 2, 1912 in Albert Lea to Fred and Dora (Hansen) Romer where she has been a lifetime resident. She married Robert Garland ?Gar? Mortensen on June 21, 1938 at Trinity Lutheran Church where she also belonged to the choir, taught Sunday School, was a Bible study leader and belonged to the Mission Circle. Harriet was a seamstress. She sewed many draperies for several retail stores.
Harriet is survived by three sons: Robert Mortensen and his wife Helen Marley of Fairfax, California, Wayne Mortensen and his wife Katherine ?Kitty? of Carver, Minnesota and Reid Mortensen and his wife Karen of Coon Rapids, Minnesota; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren; three sisters: Ruth Waldemar, Alta Jensen and Delona Petersen all of Albert Lea; many nieces and nephews.
Harriet is preceded in death by her parents: Fred and Dora Romer; husband: Robert ?Gar? Mortensen; two brothers: Harold and Ray Romer; two sisters: Beatrice Romer and Vera Reichl.
