Harold Jacobson

Funeral services for Harold A. Jacobson, of Ellendale will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 23, 2013
at LeSueur River Lutheran Church, rural New Richland. The Reverend Brian Gegel will officiate.
Interment will be in LeSueur River Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before services
at the church. Bonnerup Funeral Service Ellendale is assisting the family with arrangements. Harold died on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at the New Richland Care Center. He was 94. He was born on August 1, 1918, in Steele County, the son of Peter H. and Anna M.(Langlie) Jacobson. He attended country school and then spent his life farming in the Ellendale-New Richland area. After retiring, Harold did lawn care for the Owatonna Country Club and was caretaker for the I35 rest area near Owatonna. He married Martha Andersen on January 28, 1943 at the parsonage of Grace Lutheran Church in Waseca, MN. He was a baptized and confirmed member of the LeSueur River Lutheran Church where he at one time served as president of the congregation. Harold loved to talk and visit and especially enjoyed coffee with friends at the restaurant, and having all the family together.
Harold is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Martha, of Ellendale, children: Eileen M. (Pat) Bintz of Champlin, MN, David H. (Karen) Jacobson of New Richland, Peter H. Jacobson of Ellendale;
grandchildren: Todd (Donna) Bintz of Champlin, MN, Pamela (Tom) Ylinen of Brooklyn Park, MN, Michelle Schwartz of St. Cloud, MN, Erik (Heidi) Jacobson of New Richland, Nathan (Michelle) Jacobson of Hudson, WI, Seth (Amy) Jacobson of Medina, MN, Brandon (Abby) Jacobson of Bellevue, NE, Amy Jacobson of Dodge Center, MN; 14 great grandchildren: sister Isabel (Ingbert) Wangen of Owatonna, MN, brother-in-law Paul Andersen of Waseca, MN, sister-in-law Avis Gill of Loveland, CO and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Melvin, Reuben, Paul and George Jacobson, sisters Adeline Herbst and Viola Michaelis. Blessed be his memory!
