Memorial services for Gerald Bradley Merrill of Albert Lea, MN, will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, June 6, 2014 at the Assemblies of God Church, 1540 S. Shore Dr. Albert Lea, MN. Reverend Lee Freshour will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery, Austin, MN.
Gerald died Monday, June 2, 2014 at his home in Albert Lea. He was 72 years of age.
Gerald was born December 25, 1941 in Austin, MN, the son of Isaac and Myrtle (Olman) Merrill. He attended public school in Austin, MN.
Gerald had been employed for many years first as a supervisor with the Rock Island Rail Road and then with the Burlington Northern Rail Road. He loved fishing, travel and had a great passion for watching the trains go by.
Gerald is survived by the mother of his children Maryann Jensen of Albert Lea, MN, children Bradley Allen Merrill of Clarks Grove, MN, Jerry Bradley (Jayme) Merrill of Albert Lea, MN, Char Merrill of Clarks Grove, MN, Randy Allen Merrill (April Rygh) of Fairmont, MN. Grandchildren include Crystal, Brianna, Amanda, Nikki, Haily, Serena, Brandon, Karrah, Kaitlyn, Kaydence and Kendrick. Great grandchildren are Zayden and Amadeus. Two sisters survive Zelma Bolinger of Austin, MN, and Marie Gallegos of Minneapolis, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Floyd, sister Karen, grandson Isaac and brother in law Mario Gallegos.
