Remembering the life of Gerald D. "Jerry" Kormann.
The Funeral Service for Gerald D. "Jerry" Kormann of New Richland, will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, October 24, 2005 at
St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Richland. The
Reverend Philip A. Lewison will officiate. Interment will be in
St. Peter's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. on Sunday at Friedrich Funeral Home, New Richland and one hour before services at the church.
Jerry was born on August 26, 1934,
the son of Clarence and Agnes (Schroeder) Kormann. He graduated from New Richland High School with the class of 1952.
On August 13, 1955, he married Audrinne Johnson.
Lifetime resident of New Richland, Jerry worked for Francis Wenzel
as a carpenter, for Land O? Lakes and ran his own business, Kormann Dairy. In 1977, he opened Jerry's Inn, which he owned and operated for 18 years. He was currently employed by the American Legion as
part-time cook and at Cargill as a custodian.
He was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church and he served on the New Richland Fire Department and the New Richland City Council.
Jerry enjoyed fishing, hunting, helping family with projects and
telling jokes with his friends.
He especially enjoyed being with his family and seeing his grandchildren.
Jerry died on Friday, October 21, 2005 at the New Richland Care Center, at the age of 71.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years Audrinne, three children: Scott
(Lynn) Kormann of Overland Park, Kansas, Cindy (Terry) Holland of
Ellendale, Tim (Liz) Kormann of New Richland; six grandchildren: Nick Kormann, Elizabeth Kormann, Matt Holland, Taylor Holland,
Madison Kormann, Cassie Kormann; four sisters: Evelyn Holtz of Waseca, Audrey Stafford of New Richland, Edna Wenzel of New Richland, Barb (Harlen) Beyer of Waseca, one brother Harlan (Virginia) Kormann of San Diego, CA, sisters-in-law: Betty Kormann of New Brighton, MN, Thelma Kormann of New Richland, Elaine Smithburg of Flagler, CO, Beverly (Vernon) Lunde of Hayward, MN, brother-in-law Lester Wenzel of New Richland and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Agnes Kormann, three brothers Dale, Luverne and Lowell Kormann, sister
Marian Wenzel, three brothers-in-law: Louis Holtz, Richard Stafford, Lawrence Wenzel, Sidney Smithburg, Luverne "Sonny" Johnson and father-in-law and mother-in-law Sidney and Elsie Johnson.
