Frank Villarreal

Memorial Services for Frank A. “Poncho” Villarreal will be held at 11:00. A.M. on Friday, October 25 at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea.  The Reverend John Mitchem will officiate.  Friends may visit with family one hour before the service at the funeral home. Frank died at his home on Sunday, October 20, 2019. He was born on August 10, 1936, in Lockhart, TX, the son of Morris and Elvira (Alfredo) Villarreal. Frank had worked at Continental Foundry and also in Wells, MN. He married Elizabeth Ann Abrego, and to this union Elvira, Frank, Rose, Fidel, Michael and Peter were born.  They were later divorced.  He spent more than 30 years with his life companion Maria Rosa Mendez. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and going to casinos.  Family time and time spent with grandchildren were special times for Frank.

Frank is survived by Maria, children: Elvira Lopez(Joseph Lopez) of St. Paul, MN, Frank Villarreal of Albert Lea, Rose Villarreal (Steve Brenke) of Walters, MN, Fidel Villarreal (Patty Thomas) of Sioux Falls, SD, Michael Villarreal of Albert Lea, Peter Villarreal of Albert Lea; step children: Francis Guerrero of Albert Lea, Roy (Patty) Abrego of Eagan, MN, Daniel Robles of St. Cloud and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren as well as step grandchildren and their families and extended family Melissa Quiroz and family.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
