Remembering the life of Florence Goldman....

The Funeral Service for Florence Christina (Christenson) Goldman will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, November 5, 2007, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Albert Lea.

The Reverend Marcia Hall will officiate. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM Sunday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea, and one hour before service at the church.

Florence was born on January 16, 1923, in Freeborn County, the daughter of Thomas and Anna (Tufte) Christenson. She grew up in Albert Lea and attended Albert Lea schools.

On November 23, 1940, she married Alvin Goldman in Northwood, IA. Other than a short stay in Chicago, they lived their 61 years of marriage in Albert Lea, MN. After their four children were grown, Florence worked at the Country Club, Land-O-Lakes, and Streaters. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was faithful in her worship attendance. She liked playing bingo at the Albert Lea Senior Center and the Union Center. She enjoyed the 50+ years of friendships with the members of her Birthday Club. She especially loved time spent with her grandkids and great grandkids.

Florence died Friday, November 2, 2007, at St. John's Lutheran Home. She was 84 years old.

Florence will be greatly missed by her family: son, Bob Goldman (Pat) of Albert Lea, MN; daughters: JoAnn English (David) of Onalaska, WI, Judy Qualley (Jerry) of Owatonna, MN, Susie Close (Paul) of Iowa City, IA; 12 grandchildren: Chris Goldman (Cari), Craig Goldman (Kelli), Carol Goldman, Mike English (Patty), Steve English, Bruce English (Amy), Todd English (Amy), Janet Anderson (Greg), Jim Qualley (fiancee Karla), Polly Young (Drew), Cheri Simmons (Terry), David Close (Nina) and 24 great grandchildren; also, one sister, Beatrice Stensrude of Albert Lea, MN and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Alvin in 2001, brother Earl Christenson and sisters: Marion Carpenter, Jennie Aase, Dorothy Hall, Ruth Fretheim, Ruby Carpenter, and great granddaughter, Christina Simmons.

Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church, St. John's Lutheran Home and Crossroads Community Hospice.
