Evelyn Butler

Evelyn passed away January 14th at Fairview Care Center in Dodge Center where she had been a resident since October 1999.Visitation will be held on Monday, January 17th, from 3:00 to 6:00 at Bonnerup Funeral Home in Ellendale. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 18th, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Aiden's Catholic Church in Ellendale with Father Swami officiating. Internment at St. Mary's cemetery, Newry Township, at future date.Evelyn was born November 11th 1917 to Christian & Eliza (Johnson) Schultz. She married Richard Butler. She worked on the family farm, and was a waitress at Standard Café in Ellendale for many years. She enjoyed gardening, baking, music, and card games.
Survivors include her daughter Kathy (Lawrence) Esplan of Blooming Prairie, grandchildren Lynn (Bryan) James of Virginia MN, Bob Seabern of Minneapolis, Lisa (Randy) Frost of Devils Lake ND, Jason (Jackie) Chinander of Minneapolis, Barry Esplan of Washington DC, Tammy Goemaat of Byron, and eight grand children.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her sister Vivian Jellum, parents, grandson John Chinander, former husband Dick Butler, and daughter Carol Chinander.
Special thanks to the staff at Fairview Nursing Home for their dedicated care to Evelyn over the past eleven years. Her sense of humor and inner strength will be greatly missed by her family
