Elliott Ash

Elliott was born on February 5, 1928 in Alden, the son of Leslie and Florence (Hawkins) Ash. Elliott attended school in Alden. He married Agnes Jensen on April 19, 1953. He passed away peacefully at home on October 22, 2014, at the age of 86. After graduation, he farmed in the Alden and Manchester area for over 50 years. He also worked for the ASCS (Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service) and the Emmons State Bank as a collateral assessor. He was a dedicated father, loving spouse and grandfather. He enjoyed traveling with his family and sharing morning coffee with friends in Alden. He is survived by his son, E. Charles Ash and wife, Barbara and grandsons, Elliott and William, of Burke, VA; son, Leslie Ash and special friend, Carol Kubat of Albert Lea; daughter, Marilyn and husband, Jay Syverson of Chaska, MN, and grandchildren, Carolyn and husband Mason Hardy of Orono, MN, and Derek Syverson of St Louis Park, MN. Also surviving are sister, Cynthia and husband, Roger Nelson of Albert Lea, and their children, Craig and wife, Mary Nelson, Reid Nelson and Debra and husband, John Stolarcek of Albert Lea; sister, Wanda and husband, William Plummer of Nevada and their children, Leslie Plummer, Christopher Plummer, Robbie Plummer and Mike and wife, Cathy Plummer; sister, Audrey and children Georgia and husband, Manny Renaldo, Valerie and husband, William Kolb; niece, Sherry and Ronnie Clark; nephew, Robert Johnson Jr. and their children, all of Florida; sister-in-law Marilyn Jensen; nieces, Nancy and husband, Steve Smith, Susan and husband, Bill Matthews, Karen and Verlan Grigsby and their children in Colorado, Judy and husband, Kevin Patterson of Minnesota. He is preceded in death by wife Agnes and parents Leslie and Florence, brother-in-law Roy Jensen, sister-in-law Dolly Johnson and husband Robert, brother-in-law Dr. Richard Hunter. The family requests that memorials be made to Crossroads Community Hospice. To honor Elliott's wishes, a private family gathering will be held at a later date.
