Edna Berg

Funeral services for Edna Dean Berg of Ellendale, MN, will be held at 2:30 PM Monday, September 27, 2010 at the First Lutheran Church in Ellendale, MN. Pastor Arne Halbakken will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the First Lutheran Cemetery. Edna died Wednesday evening, September 22, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Center in Albert Lea, MN. She was 95 years of age.

Edna was born September 7, 1915 in Steele County, MN, the daughter of John and Matilda (Holmes) Schear. She graduated from Ellendale High School. Edna was married to Bennett J. Berg who preceded her in death. She had been employed in the Ellendale Public Schools as a cook, and was a lifelong member of the First Lutheran Church. She was active in the Ladies Aid.

Edna is survived by her sons; Allan and his wife Louise of Albert Lea, MN, Phillip and his wife Bonnie of New Mexico and Rick Berg of Eagan, MN. Grandchildren include; Debra (Rick) Reimann of Brooklyn Center, MN, David (Deann) Berg of Burnsville, MN, DeAnne (Dale) Maroo of Mason City, IA, Sherri Lynn Berg of CA, 8 great grandchildren; There are two step grandsons, six step great grandchildren and five great great grandsons. Edna was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, two brothers and one great grandson.
